The Cairo Post / Relations internationales / #Soudan / Barrage / #Egypt Toutes les études relatives à la construction dun barrage au sud du Soudan dans la ville de Wau ont été menées en coopération avec lEgypte ***************** All studies concerning the building of a South Sudan dam in the city of Wau have been conducted in cooperation with Egypt, according to Ahmed Bahaa al-Din, the head of the Nile Water Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, Sunday. A workshop will be conducted to display the results of the studies for donor countries that could participate in building the dam, he added according to a statement from the ministry. The announcement comes as Egyptian Water Minister Hossam Moghazy is holding talks with his South Sudanese counterpart Jemma Nunu Kumba, who has been paying Egypt a three-day visit since Oct. 25. The negotiations tackled bilateral relations between both sides and Egyptian projects that are being established in South Sudan as part of Cairo’s $26.6 million in aid to Juba, the statement added. The Egyptian projects include the digging of 30 underground wells for about 500,000 citizens and a pumping station built in Wau by Egypt’s Arab Contractors company. Moghazy said Sunday in remarks to reporters after the opening session of his talks with Kumba that the Wau Dam will provide South Sudan with water, power and agriculture.
