The Canadian Armed Forces Small Arms Competition held an awards ceremony was held this past Saturday in Ottawa. Although our team greatly improved throughout the week, we did not take home any hardware. Our best shooter was Ranger Donnie Sutherland of Constance Lake who was narrowly edged out for the best Ranger in the new comer division. The commanding officer and honourary Lieutenant-Colonel stopped by to congratulate the Rangers. Something new this year, every Rangers who participated at CAFSAC this year gets to wear a crossed rifles patch for a year which identifies them as marksmen. If they qualify next year for the team, then the patch stays on their sweatshirt.
