The Caretaker - Chart Placing Doctor Who The Caretaker was the twentieth most watched programme for the week on British Television, according to figures provided by Barb. The episode was the 7th most watched programme on BBC Television for the week, with the new series of Strictly Come Dancing taking top position. Overall Downton Abbey was the highest rated programme of the week with 10.46 million watching, once ITV HD and ITV+1 figures are added in. The X Factor also did well with all three editions rating higher than Doctor Who. The top soaps, Coronation Street, EastEnders and episodes of Emmerdale all entered the top twenty.
