The Catholic Physicians’ Guild of the Philippines (CPGP) hosts the 24th FIAMC World Congress and holds its 78th Anniversary and Annual Convention at the Manila Hotel on October 1-4, 2014. It is the second time that the international Congress is held in the Philippines. The first was in 1966 when Manila hosted the 11th FIAMC World Congress, which tackled population problems. The FIAMC – Federation Internationale des Associations Medicales Catholiques (International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations – is composed of 60 Catholic physicians’ associations worldwide, including the CPGP. It is divided into six regions: Africa, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, Europe, North America, and Latin America, and has a permanent secretariat at the Vatican City in Rome.
