The Chairman Public Accounts Committee Bushenyi, Jafari Basajabalaba has said that proper accountability of funds has tremendously improved in Bushenyi district local government. Jafari Basajabalaba said this today, while chairing the District Public Accounts meeting committee which sat in the district boardroom. He said that most of the financial queries tabled to the District Public Accounts Committee are of administrative nature but not of the funds mismanagement or embezzlement. Jafari also commented on the case of Bumbaire Technical Institute in Bumbaire Sub County, Bushenyi district where it was alleged that approximately115 million shillings was not accounted for, some text books which were supposed to be bought at 5.4 million were not bought. Jafari also said that the Public Accounts Committee recommended that the Bumbaire Technical Institute administration refunds money to students approximately 3 Million Uganda shillings, which was meant to buy school uniform that was never bought, saying that the students are currently in the completion of their course.
