The Challenge... ..Is in how we receive life! How we meet and greet the day is significant, when we want to navigate our life. The only thing we have control over is our reaction to life’s circumstances and the only constant is change. When we react, we have a tendency to judge the world around us and determine from that limited perspective what our feelings are in the moment. Since our mind is directed by what we know and pull information from previous experiences or fear of future event, this limits the moment from being all that it can be. We then fall into a pattern of behavior that does not always serve us. These fabricated emotions bind us to illusion. We instinctively derive at a course of action, limited and lacking in a true perspective of the world around us. This can have some undesired outcomes to lifes events. It depletes us of any sense of personal power because fear meets the day with resistance. How we reacted five years ago or even five minutes ago does not equal who we are today, we are so much more than that. Thought alone can not take in the truth of who we are. Reacting from thought becomes a very difficult way to live life because we learn to distrust our feelings. However, it is in our feelings that we can finally connect to ourselves and the world. How then, do we become masters of our destiny when our thoughts constantly deceive us? Our true feelings can only be initiated from breath, hence the focus on breath during Yoga practice. The ancients knew this and emphasized it within their teachings. When we breathe we take in the energy of the Universe into our bodies. We connect through breath to all that is one and become one with our soul. Truth can be found in this state; connecting breath (soul) with body and then mind. Reaction can cause fear, which in turn initiates stress and does not allow us the unified action of breath to access our soul. In fear our breathing becomes shallow and we start doing instead of being. Fear keeps us from being our “whole” self in an experience. It does not allow us to act from our true nature which is love. When we act from love our decision process can be fully awakened to what is truly happening to us. This requires a still mind and an equally paced life. Preferably a pace we set for ourselves in order to fully remain aware not one dictated to us by lifes circumstances. From this state is where true choice is found, in deciding what Universe we want to experience; a fearful one created by illusion or a loving one found in truth. Love allows the flow of life to happen. We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. T. S. Eliot -Little Gidding
