The Champion of the Unprivileged-Arvind Kejriwal Arvind - TopicsExpress

The Champion of the Unprivileged-Arvind Kejriwal Arvind Kejriwal is a true champion of the underdog, the unprivileged and the downtrodden. He vowed to overthrow a compromised, corrupted and collusive system. He is a man, who shed tears for the people, who lived in slums and unauthorized colonies. He supported not only the causes of the underclass but also the middle class. He sat on dharana on 20/01/2014 agaist the misbehavior of the Delhi police and their inaction for taking action against the guilty. The Ex CM and his cabinet colleagues staged dharana on the streets and spent night sleeps on the street, also during sharping winter season. The inaction of the GOI triggered this type of dharana by the Ex CM and his cabinet on the streets.According to the Ex CM ,the police took bribes and compromised the safety of women at Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has played an important role in spreading the message of inaction of Delhi police and also the role of corruption in India.Ramlila Maidan was one of the main launching pads of the movement against corruption. Kejriwal, under the leadership of the veteran anti-corruption crusader, Anna Hazare, rose to national prominence from this very place. The ground acted as a catalyst and transformed what was initially a rebellion against the system into one of the major political parties in Delhi.AAP took birth in November 2012 from New Delhi under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and vowed to root out corruption and change the existing system of governance in the country. In the last Assembly election in Delhi,AAP shattered the hope of the congress and reduced the vote bank of BJP to for government. Two national parties like congress and BJP are afraid of AAP as it might shatter their day dream to form government at the centre. It played a proactive role in the country by inculcating the spirit of patriotism love and affection for the people of the country. But he became very rigid to the corrupt corporates and and corrupted politicians. AAP has inspired the youth to believe that every vote counts. Many young people say that the emergence of AAP in the mainstream politics have given them the incentive to vote.AAP is giving more importance on corruption and corrupt system of governance.A revolution has started in India and this will bring real change in the way we conduct politics in the country. The new polity will not tolerate corruption in the country. The suffering of the people at the hands of government officials and the system will go away with the rise of people like Arvind Kejriwal. He is the medium for change as told by many people. The fledgling Aam Aadmi Party, born from the crucible of the anti-corruption movement that began in 2011, is generating and igniting a new kind of energy and hope in the country, never witnessed before. For the first time, a civil society movement has transformed itself into a political organization and challenged the established political parties. Similar attempts were made in the 1960s and 70s but did not succeed. It was this signature of democracy that was on full display on December 28 at the iconic Ramlila Ground in the heart of Delhi. Fittingly, this venue was one of the launching pads of the movement against corruption. Kejriwal formed the political party in November 2012 after breaking away from his mentor, Anna Hazare. Nobody expected the AAP to capture the imagination of the people of Delhi so quickly and become a thorn in the side of the political ambitions of the established Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress. The party came second in the recently held elections and won 28 seats out of 70, thereby restricting the front runner, BJP to 32 seats and reducing the incumbent Congress to third place with just eight seats. A lack of numbers forced the BJP to sit in opposition and outside support from the Congress catapulted the AAP to the seat of power in the city state. What does the rise of AAP signify for Indian politics? Will politics in India remain the same after the entry of an unconventional party like AAP? For both replacing the Congress as well as providing an alternative to the BJP, the AAP will need to articulate clearer political positions and take ideological stands. Its willingness and ability have decided to provide an alternative both to the Congress and BJP.Both the parties are acting as two faces of one coin.Their main focus is to do politics to promote and encourage corruption and other unhealthy practices by articulating and igniting the spirit of vandalism. For the ruling Congress, the anti-corruption political organization attacks the base of its politics and threatens to hijack its inclusive and secular agenda. It fixes the Congress and the BJP and threatens to affect regional parties like BJD in Odisha. Modi would be affected directly. In the urban areas where Congress is in decline, the natural winner would have been the BJP. But the Hindu right will be affected by the rise of the AAP thereby making Modi’s task difficult. In India’s future, it will be the common man and the common man’s party who will be the real rulers. GOI hiked the price of CNG and PNG on Dec 26 ,2013 which was challenged by the AAP in the Supreme Court. As a result of the action, the central government was forced to bring down prices of both CNG and PNG by Rs.15(30%) and Rs.5/-(20%) respectively. It was a victorious action of the AAP government against the unpopular action of the central government. Arvind Kejriwal has decided to plays an important role in national politics and he has already declared the names of 20 persons to contect against corrupt people like Kapil Sibal,Nitin Gadakari and others.Besides filding suitable corrupt free candidates, Kejriwal has to bear in mind that fast economic growth of the country is not sustainable without strong development of human capital and essential infrastructure.India lags behind many countries at a similar level of development ,and even, poor Bangaladesh.Fast growth with strong infrastructure will provide rising opportunities ,jobs and incomes.More ever, first growth also produces revenues that can be used for essential social services and infrastructure that create more equality of opportunity for all-especially the poor and the women.UPA II headed by Dr.Manmohan Singh has encouraged red tapism and senseless regulatory barriers that hit economic growth and benefit only the corrupt and powerful like Ambani brothers. Many sorts of regulations are needed, but India is full of regulations which are implemented perversely to the benefit of powerful ones in the ruling party.Subsidies should be given to the people that will encourage strong infrastructure with equality of opportunisty.AAP has already fielded candidates against corrupt politicians in Odisha.Naveen Patnaik government is not free from corruption. He has involved in mining corruption cases to the tune of about Rs.60,000 crore as told by Saha Commission. It is the duty of the regulatory authority to get back the money and invest the same in 55,0000 villages of Odisha. He was determined to maintain social justice with equality and tried to eradicate corruption and change the existing system of governance through Jan Lokpal Bill. The Bill was put up in the Delhi Assembly to pass. Both Congress and BJP reiterated that they support the passing of the Bill in the Assembly. But they insisted that the approval of the LG of Delhi and GOI is necessary for passing of the Bill.According to them the approval is necessary and as per the constitution.Holding a copy of the constitution in his hand in the Delhi Assembly,Kejriwal informed the house that approval is not necessary as per the constitution. The Delhi Aam Aadmi have given him the power to get the Bill passed in the Assembly. The Bill was not passed and Kejriwal tendered his resignation as CM, Delhi. The Congress and BJP, on 14/2/2014, took a jibe at Kejriwal after he quit over Jan Lokpal Bill, saying he was never serious to govern and was looking for an excuse to run away to cover up his failure to deliver on his commitments. Kejriwal’s estranged mentor and Guru,Anna Hazae said it was unfortunate that Jan Lokpal Bill could not be passed and that he had to resign . Congress, which was offering outside support to AAP,accused Kejriwal of being a negative person ,glib-talker and a smooth lier who was looking at an excuse to run away. After 49 hectic and headline grabbing days to power,Kejriwal resigned as CM of Delhi after the combined BJP and Congress defeated the introduction of the Jan Lokpal Bill –the AAP’s mascot legislation in the Assembly. It brought to an end a unique episode in Indian politics after his party rode the wave of an anti-corruption movement that forced the nation’s political class to jettison its cosy attitude towards the common man problems ,but finally Kejriwal and his team arguably took on more than they could handle. On the day of dramatic developments in the Assembly,Kejriwal, who had a roller coaster ride ever since he took over reins of power on December 28,2013,accused the Cogress and BJP of colluding with each other against the Bill after his government ordered filing an FIR against RIL,chairman Mukesh Ambani among others.Congress and BJP wanted that no action should be taken again Ambani and others as they are receiving huge money from them for their political activities. The event exposed the real face of the Congress and BJP.After resignation to his fate,Kejriwal informed the house that “this appears to be our last session.I will consider myself fortunate if I have to sacrifice the chief minister’s post 1,000 times and my life to eradicate corruption.Kejriwal’s dramatic resignation satisfied him from his post after 49 days of coming to power as he failed to get the dream bill introduced in the assembly. So what if Kejriwal has resigned ?The resignation proves that only a Jhaadu Waala(referring the party symbol of jhaadu or broom) can deliver and end corruption in the city.Other parties are not supporting him because they know that if the bill is passed their leaders will land in jail. We,the AAP ACTIVISTS are with him in his resignation and promise to give our lives for eradicating corruption and changing the existing and corrupt system of governance. God may bless him to serve the people of India. JAI HIND. Mayadhar Nayak(Retd.DGM,NABARD) AAP Activist,Bhuban,Dist:Dhenkanal, 9439539985 E-mail:[email protected] Why people of India are allergic to Congress India’s unic identification(Aadhaar Card) was created to plug loop holes and help tackle the issue of illegal infiltration of 1.4 million Bangaladeshi into the country over the past decade. The UPA II Govt.has become successful in legalising the illegal Bangaladeshis to the country. It is learnt that about Rs.50,000 crore was earmarked for Aadhaar Card. This amount might have been earmarked and spent to provide irrigation facilities to the farmers to the extent of about 2 million hactares of land. The Congress has rulled the country for about 60 years starting from 1947 till date.It has planned and promoted many good poverty eradicated programmes. But not a single programme was successful due to rampart corruption and black money. As told by the Congres, the country developed. But actually, the MLAs, the MPs, the Ministers, followers of them, contractors and corrupt government servants enjoyed the fruits of development. The poor became poorer and richer became richer.Politicians like Lalu Prasad Yadab,Mulayam Singh Yadab,Mayabati,Rajiv Gandhi, etc.enjoyed the fruits of development. It did not take any tangible action to punish them. CBI,CVC,CAG and other government promoted institutions supported the central government. No independence were given to them to work without obstruction and interference. They, all started to function under GOI.So they were unable to take tangible action against corrupt system. Most of the largest source of corruption in India are entitlement programmes and social spending schemes enacted by the central government.Examples include Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and National Rural Health Mission.Other daily sources of corruption include India’s India’s trucking industry which is forced to pay billions in bribe annually to numerous regulatory and police stops on its interstate highways. Indian media including electronic media published allegations of corrupt Indian citizens stashing trillions of rupees in the form of dollar in Swiss banks and foreign banks in India.Swiss authorities ,however ,deny these allegations. The regulatory authorities also failed to implement various regulatory functions and falsely implicated persons in the name of corruption and amassed money through these systems. The cause of corruption in India include excessive regulations, complicated taxes and licensing system, numerous government departments each with opaque bureaucracy and discretionary powers, monopoly by government ruled systems on certain goods and services delivery ,and the lack of transparent laws and processes.Corruption has become way of life for the present politicians. In 2012 India has ranked 94 th out of 176 countries in Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index, tied with Benin,Columbia,Molodova,Mongolia,Senegal,Greece, etc. The main cause of corruption is greedy politicians and officers, police, judges,CBI,etc who want to improve ,eradicate poverty and unemployment and clean up the country. of transparent laws and processes.[11][12] There are significant variations in level of corruption as well as in state government efforts to reduce corruption across India. In 2012 India has ranked 94th out of 176 countries in Transparency Internationals Corruption Perceptions Index, tied with Benin, Colombia, Djibouti, Greece, Moldova, Mongolia, and Senegal. main cause for corruption is greedy rulers and officers… parliament, judges, IAS officers, police, CBI, every dept has corruption… people have to realize… elect good leaders who want the country to improve, eradicate poverty and unemployment and clean up the country… hope in future India becomes a developed country… JAI HIND Continuation of confused Nehruvian Socialism for the last a few decades and hypocrisy of current Liberalism when large scale leaking subsidies still continue. 2. Weak and ineffective Local governments inspite of Amendments 73 and 74 to Constitution of India 3. Fixed and purchased vote bank with manipulated Voters lists. 4. Rusted and fargile steel frame of outdated colonial model of IAS Bureaucracy. 5. Our fundamental rules in governance, Police, Co-operative and other welfare Societies etc are still based on 1860 Act as amended but not implemented. 6. Our private schools/colleges obtain signatures for higher UGC scale salary but pay nearly 50% of the amount. Thus Corrupt teachers/Professors/ management etc are running the schools/colleges. 7. In I.A.S officers Training Academy (LBSNAA) corruption is prevailing and brought to the notice of Cabinet Scy, Prime Minister etc. They are all closing their eyes to save their IAS colleague in LBSNAA. 8. The subsidised domestic LPG cylinders are sold to commercial organisation/hotels etc at much higher rate in the presence of law enforcing agencies, no one stops this for their corrupt material gain. All the Deputy Commissioners of major districts know about it but are helpless. 9. First the government recovers TDS at much higher percentage and when question of Refund comes, for years Refund is not given unless some fixed% is given to Income Tax officials. If you complain there is more harassment in future to make you run from pillar to post. 10. Our spiritual gururs openly accept donation of Black money. Neither the donor want receipt nor Gurus are keen to give receipts. …. there is endless list for corrupt practices. i do not know what LOKPAL/LOKAYUKT will do in such cases. Solution is bury Nehruvian Socialism, say good bye to colonial model of IAS Bureacracy, No subsidies, compensation through welfare means and not subsidies, make local governments strong, effective and vibrant. CEC of India should be reprimanded if manipulation of Voters lists are found etc. Deputy Commissioner incharge should be sacked for accpeting manipulation under political pressure.
