The Changeable Hawk-Eagle or Crested Hawk-Eagle is a bird of prey and by far one of the powerful forest eagles in our jungles. It is a relatively slender eagle with some subspecies being dimorphic giving the name of Changeable. One of the main attractions other than its hunting skills is the eyes as seen in this image. The CHE normally hunts on small mammals, birds and reptiles; they wait for the prey to come out in the open and then swoop down forcefully, strikes, and hold the prey away in its talons. I have documented various hunting sequences and the most closest and amazing one was hunting a jungle myna, will share those images soon… This is very close shot sub distance 6.5m at 500mm focal length and a full frame image.
