The Charles Wallace Bangladesh Trust (CWBAT), in partnership with the British Council in Bangladesh, creates opportunities for Bangladeshi nationals to access educational and professional development programmes in the UK. The objective of this initiative is to enhance the careers of the individuals concerned and, where possible, to establish productive, bi-lateral institutional relationships and ensure knowledge sharing between the UK and Bangladesh. A grant from the CWBAT will enable successful applicants to achieve their artistic, academic and professional ambitions through affiliation with experts in the UK. ELIGIBILITY Candidates must: be a Bangladeshi citizen be aged 25-45 (mid-career professionals) hold a firm offer (minimum of 3 weeks and maximum of 3 months) from a UK host body. APPLICATION PROCESS The British Council will advertise the programmes within specified disciplines and solicit applications from time to time, draw up short-lists and interview short-listed candidates. Candidates will not be language-tested, but their capacity to cope in a UK environment will be assessed in the interviews. AWARD DETAILS Award-holders will receive a grant of £1,300 per month, and a contribution of £800 towards international travel costs. They must make all their own arrangements in the UK in consultation with their host institution.
