"The Cheetah Generation Radio Talk Show" Join us for the period of this month as we host YVE The Gambia on the topic: Climate, Environment and all its related issues (Proudly Sponsored by BSIC Bank and coordinated by YCP-The Gambia) Are you worried about the environment but not sure what to do make a difference and reverse the damage? The cheetah Generation talk show will make it easy for you as Young Volunteers for the Environment (YVE-The Gambia) take up the air waves . This Sunday and every Sunday from 12Pm -1Pm GMT on Star FM 96.6 FM and tunein/radio/Star-FM-966-Banjul-s182899/, we will offer you one tip, an easy and practical solution to everyday environmental challenges . With each tip we will guide you towards a greener way of life and hopefully ensure a save and sustainable world. Our guests for Sunday 30th July 2013 are: 1. Mr. Sena Alouka (Excutive Director –JVE International ) 2. Mr. Alieu Jallow (Military personnel of the Gambia Armed Forces ) The results are often delightful, occasionally challenging and consistently surprising. Evidence of certain environmental trends continues to accumulate, including those related to climate change and its impacts, biodiversity loss, and degradation of land and soils. The effects of climate change are expected to be the greatest in developing countries in terms of loss of life and relative effects on investment and economy. It is always describing “Africa as the continent most vulnerable to the impacts of projected change because widespread poverty limits adaptation capabilities “. The Debate focus that our guests will be dialoging on with the wider audience will be: · Will Africa seizes the moment and fine new ways to close the gaping wealth gap? · Will Africa harness renewable energies to development in a more sustainable trajectory? · Should climate change be in the post-2015 development framework? What is the role of stakeholders and the position of Youths in the actualization of a sustainable & Just Africa? The Debate will help to clear up two misconceptions about the MDGs. The first is that climate change was not included in the MDGs. This is incorrect. Under MDG 7 ‘Ensure environmental sustainability’, target B has an indicator on CO2 emissions, total, per capita and per $1 GDP (PPP). Climate change and poverty are products of the same problem – a system that prioritizes material wealth and consumption over wellbeing and the planet. Our guests will unveil the root causes , the possible solutions , the excuses , the yes or no, the whom, the who, the why, the those, the ignorance, those responsible , power & positions , policies & strategies etc . At the end of the program , we will get to know our individual and collective position , rights, power of change , strategies , influences , actions , primary & secondary concerns , the true of change and proactive actions etc . Tune in to Star FM 96.6 FM and tunein/radio/Star-FM-966-Banjul-s182899/ and be with “The cheetah generation radio talk show” with your hosts Joe Bongay (YVE-Executive Director ) , Bubacarr Baldeh (YVE Program Coordinator ) Sheriffor Jarju (President –YCP) and the YVE Team every SUNDAY from 12:00pm till 1:00pm… You can also call or follow us join us on facebook or skype to add your voice or comments to the debate : Skype: Joebongay2 Facebook: https://facebook/groups/yvegambia/ or https://facebook/groups/420358238038063/ email: yvegambia@gmail
