The Chicago Police Department has identified a pattern of arson on Beat 1924 (Halsted to Southport, Addison to Belmont). They have occurred in alleys between the hours of 11:00 pm-5:00 am and it has been reported that the unknown offender may be on a bike. Targets have been to garbage cans, vehicles and a garage. The Chicago Police Department has put a special attention on Beat 1924 and the Bomb and Arson Unit have been actively patrolling alleys in the area and investigating previous arson sites. Public safety is always a top priority in the 44th Ward and I have been closely monitoring this pattern with the Chicago Police Department. It is essential to always report any suspicious people, vehicles or activity in the area to 911 immediately. Please be aware of this occurrence and alert your neighbors in the area of this pattern. We need to catch this offender and the police rely on your tips to solve this case.
