The Chief Justice, who was there to give an inspirational talk to the young girls, was surprised when one of the participating girls asked her what can be done in the event that a young girl is raped and she needed to access justice at the time the country’s courts are closed due to the Judiciary strike. “I didn’t expect that one of you girls would ask me that question. All in all, I am very concerned about the on-going strike because people who are suffering are like the ones who you just mentioned in your question,” said Msosa. She added: “The courts are just like hospitals. They don’t need to completely shut down as is the case now. The issue of money is something which we should not allow to make others suffer.”
