The Children arrived today around 5;20 p.m. Ages from 4 years old to 12. We had sign out Welcome to the USA, and a young Boy asked Can America Love me as I have no one left? Tear Jerk er!!! We assigned all the Cots, and went for Meet and Greet in the Main Chapel, where we had an interpreter on hand as well, You could see the stress in the children. Went to Gym where we had a serving line set up for the children, filled with fruit, chicken, and beans and rice and they picked their desert. After that shower time girls one side boys the other they were amazed !! Most of these children lived in Huts in their country some had mud homes but not with any plumbing, After there showers they made name tags and we sang songs of celebration of life for them; 42 of the 55 had no family, siblings and parents both were killed. The other have a Mother or Father that remained behind. We listened to their prayers and got them all in bed and tucked in for the night, started to turn the lights out and some of them starting crying, we turned the lights back on and what they wanted the light to stay on, they are afraid of the dark from perhaps memories and what they have been through so we all have rotation on nights the Pastor and his wife were staying tonight everyone else has signed up for nights till September.
