The Christmas Cup has Been Run and Won. Media Release by Motrosport Promotions After Practice was rained out on Saturday, clearing skys greeted teams today for the 2nd Annual Christmas Cup at Fraser Shores Maryborough Junior Quarter Midget Raceway. The day kicked off with the 120cc Restricted class with defending champion Kaine Richters taking the win in Round 1. Kurtis Peall returned fire with wins in Round 2 and 3, while Jackson Brims surprised everyone by taking the win in Round 4 in only his second race meeting. Santas Dash would see top points scorer Peall and Defending champ Richters off the front row but it was Brims who again stole the show with a win securing pole position for the final. The final would see Brims take a commanding lead with Peall, Richters and Barsby fighting for the minors. Brims began to tire towards the end of the race which saw Peall, Richters and Barsby all close in the final laps. Brims would hold on for his first win in a blanket finish with Peall and Richters 2nd and Third. The 120cc class would again see the best racing of the day with 3 and 4 wide racing on the resurfaced Maryborough track. Zac Brims would take the win in Round 1 after the heat had to be rerun after a shower of rain stopped the event after 2 laps. Daniel Hollman would take the win in Round 2 with Brims again proving the class of the field in Round 3. Olivia Lack would take round 4 to put her off the front row for the Dash. A hard fought dash would see Zac Brims Take the win from Lack and Hollman and would see them start the final in that order. The final would see Brims lead from start to finish leaving the others in his wake to finish what can only be described as a dominate performance, Lack would come home for 2nd and Hollman for 3rd. Fast can be the only way to describe the 160cc racing with Jordan Cunningham taking the win in Round 1 with Defendinf champion Bryce Lack taking Round 2 and 4 to top point score. Lachlan Stanford would take the win in Round 3 to deny Lack a 3rd win in the heats. The Dash would see Lack lead all the way to secure pole for the final from Cunningham and Hayden Brims. Lack would go on the put the mechanicals issues of the last 2 events behind him to lead from start to finish to take the win defend his title and deny Brims Racing of a clean sweep with Hayden Brims finishing second from Cunningham in what was a cracker of a race.
