The Christmas I Believe In ... Im a dreamer ... so I have been - TopicsExpress

The Christmas I Believe In ... Im a dreamer ... so I have been told. I guess I always have been and Im pretty sure I always will be. If I close me eyes and squeeze real tight ... I can see it ... I can hear it ... I can smell it ... I can even feel it ... the Christmas I believe in. I can see Christian & Mark at one end of the table waking up with a morning cup of coffee. Their chairs are facing each other and they are leaning into each other forehead to forehead. James & Kristin are at the other end. James is holding Issac ... Kristin is feeding him. In the other room I can hear Terry, TomTom, Patrick & of course Madison laughing and giggling as they play with their new toys and empty paper tubes. Jennifer is standing in the door way ... debating on which age group she belongs to. The house is full of Christmas music ... the smell of fresh baked pepperoni rolls and & peanut butter cookies ... there are also new voices ... new laughs ... new giggles. Above all however ... the house will be full of love. Soon my sister, Terrie, will show up with her clan and Ill squeeze her tight. Ill give her a Christmas card with a $1.00 in it and a cheap box of chocolate covered cherries. Something Ive done since I was a child. I will thank God that I was able to do so once more. The house will fill with family & friends ... well share food ... drink ... memories ... laughs ... tears ... above all ... love. Well even take a moment to observe the empty place setting that represents those no longer with us. I will think of Johnnie and his daughter Jennifer ... and of course ... mom. Amongst all the chaos I will be leaning back on the counter ... giving thanks to God for the home invasion. However, I will be thanking Him mostly for the woman that is pressed back up against me, the woman who is holding my hands as I wrap my arms around her ... the woman I will share a dance with under the mistletoe once everyone wanders off ... this woman ... my gift from God ... my wife. It wont happen this year but it will happen ... one day. Until then ... Ill keep dreaming ... because this is the Christmas I believe in.
