The Christmas Season has always been a time of celebration for me. My Birthday and Christmas are only days apart. That usually mean double the gifts for me. As I sit and reflect over the years and try to figure out which gifts I enjoyed receiving the most I came up empty.My memories of gifts Ive received are far from my thoughts. The gifts that are at the front of my mind or ones that Ive given to others. As children on God were blessed beyond our wildest imagination. Rather we want to acknowledge the simple things in our life as blessing or not is up to us. We are children of the most high, the King. All things in our possession are blessings. Im reminded of the instruction that God gave Moses to share with the Israelites regarding the manna. They were only to gather what they needed and have nothing left over until morning unless it would rot. God provide us with all that we actually need. Some of us want to have extras stuff in our life or stuff that God tells use to consume and not leave sitting out unused. When the extra stuff that we dont need or the stuff God has asked us to do way with or give to others; start to stink or go bad in our lives and we look for others or even God to blame. The things that are not meant for use are never going to do us any good. If God has given you something extra this Holiday Season to share with others then be obedient and give it away. If God cant use us to help his people then whats our purpose. Our blessing are meant to flow through us and not be stored up. Tis the Season of giving, how can you be a blessing to others this Holiday Season? The real joy comes not from receiving but from giving.
