The City Council voted unanimously to approve the citing of the winter homeless shelter in Barrio Logan. Councilmember Alvarez brokered a compromise to remove Barrio Logan from consideration in 2016. The intake at the shelter will not be first come first served either. The most needy will get a referral and there will not be people lined up outside the tent to get in. Though not ideal it is a positive step forward towards giving Barrio Logan some peace and giving homeless people the dignity they deserve.
