The City Council will meet at 5pm on December 30 to consider a resolution which would move elections for the Council from odd years to even years. This will extend the terms of those currently in office until the elections take place. By moving the elections, they will occur at a date when turn-out is far higher and it will cut costs by not holding an election in the odd-year Novembers. The public is welcome to attend tomorrows meeting which will be held at City Hall. This change is similar to one made by Bronson Community Schools a couple of years ago and is authorized by Michigan Law.
