The Clinton Public Works Department has free Larvicide tablets - TopicsExpress

The Clinton Public Works Department has free Larvicide tablets available to residents. Tablets may be picked up at the Public Works Department at 527 Springridge Road weekdays from 7 am – 4 pm. The tablets are a service of the Clinton Public Works Department in efforts to control the spread of mosquitos in Clinton by treating the source of mosquito breeding. Larvicide tablets treat areas of standing water to kill mosquito larvae before they can mature. Tablets are distributed on the surface of stagnant water locations. Larvicides will last only a few weeks in water and pose no danger to humans, non-targeted animal species, or the environment when used according to directions. Above average rainfall this summer has resulted in standing water around houses. Mosquitoes breed in standing water. Without it they cannot continue their life cycle. Killing mosquito larvae before they can hatch is the most effective method of mosquito eradication. The most effective and economical method of mosquito prevention is dumping out containers around the home that create a habitat for mosquitoes to lay their eggs. These containers should either be dumped out every three days, or covered to prevent collecting water. Stop by Public Works at 527 Springridge Road to pick up your box of Larvicide tablets Monday – Friday from 7 am – 4 pm.
