The Colony Theater , from 1958-1965 this was my saturday afternoon hang out from 1pm-4:30pm...where for $.35 ,I got 2 Merry Melody Cartoons, Previews of Coming Atttractions...and a feature film from the Marquee(Tarzan with Gordon Scott or Journey to the Center of the Earth with Pat Boone)... and for $.15, a vending bag of popcorn and for $.10, a paper cup of coke from a vending machine, which I usually spilled moving back to my seat....The Colony was at 21 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave... and in those days I lived across the street at 20 E.M.P.A. right next door to the Doghouse Hobby shop... Thanks to Mgr.Frank Fallone for his diligence (and His whistle) in keeping control of what sometimes could be matinee bedlam..... From 1966-1971 this became my cathedral to the birds and bees....I would like to thank a number of LHS Girls for cooperating with my romantic development... and at $1.25 a ticket and at $.35 for a box of popcorn... a small price to pay in trying to reach The Bases... Thanks Girls
