The Commentary you wont hear, yet need to read. Syria is an example of the poor education about world events and politics that Americans have received over the last decades. In light of recent events our illustrious media and congress will make sure you know that Russia is evil, and should not be trusted. While Russia does have some shadier parts, so do we. I must commend them on being cognizant of historical events. A brief study of middle eastern history would show that Syria would have been the last finger in the damn holding back World War 3. The Russians realized this and worked to find a non-military solution to this situation. I am not saying that I entirely trust the Russians (another byproduct of my poor American education). But I am saying it is time we stopped thinking that the world needs a police force, and embrace the notion that the world needs citizens.
