The Concise Version of Pauls Advice to Timothy 1: Effectively use your gifts. 2: Understand that Gods spirit gives you power, love, and wisdom. 3: Be willing to suffer for Christ. 4: Proclaim the word of Jesus Christ in faith and love. 5: Guard that precious gift of truth that was given to you. 6: Live freely realizing and proclaiming it is grace that save us. 7: Teach others so they may teach. Share the ministry. 8: Like a soldier, make your top priority winning the fight to preserve Gods truth, not for ourselves, but for the benefit of others who will be saved. 9: Remember that the power of Christs resurrection lives in us. 10: Remind the church not to argue, but rather commit to teaching. 11: Study the word of God so your instruction is adequate. 12: Do not allow foolish conversations to ruin the churchs commitment to holiness. 13: Despite false teaching, continue to build on the foundational truth that God is in control. He knows those who have committed their lives to him and he expects them to leave the former sinful lifestyle and seek to live in holiness. 14: By separating yourself from wickedness and seeking God first, you will make yourself useful to God. 15: Run away from the fleshly desires that so often overtake young people and out of an honest and sincere heart, follow righteousness, faith, love and peace. 16: Avoid foolish questions. Do not argue and you may be able to save some from the trap of the devil. 17: Understand that the days are wicked thats why you must preach so fervently. 18: Protect the congregation from worldly and selfish ways of thinking. 19: Continue in the deep truths so many have suffered to bring to you. Understand that all who will live for God will suffer in this life. 20: Continue to proclaim the scriptures, teaching men to live godly lives and being an example of what the minister should be in good works. 21: Be ready to preach the word in the authority of God to all who will listen. For the day will come when people will rather hear cute stories than the words that will change them. 22: Be very attentive to your surroundings. 23: Be willing to endure hardships. 24: Do the work of an evangelist, traveling and proclaiming Gods word. 25: Live a life that is an example of godliness to others. After these 25 points of instruction Paul continued his letter encouraging Timothy and the other believers to have confidence in God for Paul was ready to meet him and was convinced of his good standing. He closed his letter with several personal pleas and instructions including a deep desire to meet with his dear friend. This was his last letter on record before his execution. I believe that if the church prayerfully committed to obey these instructions it would lead to total revival in Christs church. We will be posting this sacred advice and prayerfully seeking to put these concepts in practice with our ministry and personal lives... You can see the full study by visiting my timeline and reading earlier posts or simply by studying II Timothy. If some of the instructions seem repetitive , thats because they are. Paul emphasized key points in both of his letters... Here he focused greatly n avoiding arguments and boldly preaching Gods truth.... The theme is interwoven through both letters.... Good advice today.....
