The Condition Of Our Wells Therefore, prepare your mind for action; be self-controlled; set your hope on the grace fully given to you when Jesus Christ is revealed (1 Pet.1:13). So that we have a constant supply of fresh spiritual water, our wells must be in good condition. By setting our minds on the grace to be revealed, as we read in todays verse, we are able to zone in on our hope. A lot of this will come from the patience we get with the comfort of the Word... Our wells can be kept in good condition by a regular and fervent prayer life. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Phil.4:6). The apostle Paul goes on to let us know that this will be followed by the peace of God which transcends all understanding... Our peace will be nurtured by have wells in tip-top condition... I have seen people throw up their hands and say, Lord give me strength. By keeping our wells in good shape we can have this: I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being (Eph.3:16). Thats the way to ask the Lord for strength. Strength which He is willing to provide, so that ours may be developed more fully. Lastly, our wells must be kept in working order so that we may be able to minister to the needs of one another, especially to those of our family. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Heb.10:24). Through our assembling together, we can exhort and love one another, as we seek to lift them up. A good question that we might want ask ourselves is about the condition of our spiritual wells... How functioning are they when it comes to our hope, peace, strength, and our brethren? God wants our lives to be enriched, and with our wells in good working order, they will be... Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
