The congress has power of the purse. It should use it. its a way to help with checks and balances. I think you may agree with me that the democrats should have had the resolve to use the power of the purse to stop funding the war in Iraq. There was talk of it. there was a HUGE outcry from the people to have it happen. It is similar in this case. I get the frustration but There were lots of budgets that could have passed. The A.C.A. is still the law of the land and it is still in place. (it may not be once the first fine is actually enforced and then an individual will have standing to go to court over the issue, the supreme court only ruled on one aspect of the law) If government were limited to non controversial roles (keeping the peace, etc) instead of redistribution of goods and services then funding the government would not be controversial.
