The Congressional Black Caucus is apparently putting the finishing touches on a bill that would strengthen the nation’s anti-racial-profiling laws in response to the shooting death of 17-year-old TRAYVON MARTIN last year. The bill will rein in racial-profiling laws, get rid of Stand Your Ground laws, and push for better training for neighborhood-watch volunteers. Democrat JOHN LEWIS of Georgia said that GEORGE ZIMMERMAN being found not guilty “seems to justify the stalking and killing of innocent black boys and deny them any venue of self-defense.” Meanwhile, protesters took to the Los Angeles streets Tuesday for the fourth night in a row, organized by the ANSWER coalition, whose organizer said, “We won’t stop until there’s justice for Trayvon Martin.” In Oakland, the Tribune called for a public forum after days of tense protests.
