The Consequences of De-Programming (8/28/13) As a result of our sending out editorial essays, we often receive like communications from various sources. We recently viewed a YouTube clip from a rather frustrated young man out of Chicago who spoke on the condition of the American black. His colorful language was rather crisp and without confusion. There was, however, one passage of his speech, which caused me to pause and ponder. He spoke of the seemingly hopeless plight of the Afro-American and the possible need to literally do away with some of our folks who are resistant to decent living and positive moral values. He even paraphrased a passage by Malcolm X ( who was speaking on black revolution) that some of our folks, who are opposed to change, may need to be removed with quick dispatch. This young man’s message was harsh in its assertions that there are some of the downtrodden who have become comfortable with their condition, high status or low, who would betray any movement towards ethnic betterment or “racial cleansing… (that) the cancer must be cut out of our people.” And that which caused us to be in this condition was brutal programming and there may need to be an equally as brutal program of de-programming. Analysis Several factors must be considered before undertaking such a radical course of action (ethnic rebellion). One must be relatively sure that there are sufficient numbers of the people to ensure success. How is this “revolution” to take place? Violence or non-violence? Who makes that determination? Is there to be a leader? In what manner will this “leader” be chosen? How do you deal with the power struggle that goes with determining who is to be the leader? When will it take place? Where will the expression of rebellion take place? Who will sponsor the necessary expenses? Who or what is to be considered as the “enemy”? How do you deal with those African Americans who are in opposition to the “rebellion”? How do you determine who is a “traitor”? What is to be the punishment? Who determines the punishment? And certainly, but not finally, what is the objective of these actions? These questions pertain to the internal struggle and must be given great consideration. There are many more such considerations. Now to those concerns which relate to the “opposition”. When these and like above questions are asked, one must then consider what the “establishment” powers might respond with. Primarily, it must be acknowledged, without doubt that all “whites” are not the enemy. It is a system…a train of thought, that is the culprit. The reason being that the vast majority of whites are as oppressed by the system as are the expatriated African descendants. Most are simply ignorant as to their role in this charade called “democracy” not realizing that in this game, they are pawns themselves. Back to the “rebellion”. How does one respond to the “system” when it rejects change? How do you conduct secret meetings and strategies when the establishment can already “tap” any correspondence it chooses? Such an expression of discontent by the system will have monumental repercussions. How does one bring to its knees an opponent that has withstood the concentrated efforts of mighty nations seeking its downfall? Furthermore, if negotiations do become an option or an alternative to a forced agreement, how much credibility can one give to the word of those who speak with a “forked tongue and whose promises, historically, have been as trustworthy and binding as a contract written in water? Unfortunately, ladies and gentlemen, this undertaking of physical rebellion is much too broad in scope to have much chance of success. The reason being that what one hopes to change is the condition of the heart. Neither force nor legislation can change the heart. And, sadly, the powers that be (or wish to be) have a terrible track record when it comes to displaying compassionate humility/humanity. What needs to occur is a transformation of the soul…a spiritual rehabilitation. And obviously the current major western religion, which is supposed to govern man’s dealings with self, has failed miserably in directing or controlling the base animal drives of those in power. Perhaps it is time for some drastic changes…in views and practices. The course of action that comes to my mind is that we need to start with baby steps. That is, let’s begin by getting our own house in order. Start by teaching our sons and daughters the value of having integrity and strong morals. We need to embrace those basic skills necessary for a stable, fundamental lifestyle. For example, being well versed in the skilled trades such as carpentry, masonry, electricians, plumbers, et al. is a positive start towards achieving self-sufficiency. One cannot go wrong with these essential skills. Of course, before any such reprogramming can occur, people need to realize that there is a need for change. It is the first order of the day.
