The Cork Independence Day Line up of events has been announced! View this email in your browser Dear , Tomorrow will be the first ever Cork Independence Day as the Peoples Republic of Cork becomes a reality! So get involved and show your Cork colours on the day it really matters - Cork Independence Day! Cork Visa Checkpoints will be stationed around Cork City and County borders from 8am. To enter the Peoples Republic of Cork you will need to produce your Cork Visa - No Visa No Entry! Cork Visas will cost €2 and with all proceeds going to the CUH Charity Childrens Unit appeal. A full day of events are planned throughout the City and County from sun rise to sunset, with something for everyone! Purchase a Cork Visa The day continues as Cork City Council will be providing a Complimentary shuttle bus service from the Bus Station at Parnell Place direct to Collins Barracks between 9.30 a.m. & 1.30 p.m. Theres lots happening throughout Cork City and County on the day to help celebrate the birth date of General Michael Collins with some of the highlights including: Michael Collins Breakfast at the Munster Arms in Bandon (8 a.m. - 12 p.m.) Michael Collins letters from 1920/21 on display at Collins Barracks Rebel Food Market at the Cork County Hall (5-9 p.m.) Collins Barracks Open Day (10 a.m. - 4 p.m A fun-filled day in the town of Clonakilty including a Road Bowling Exhibition and a Re-Enactment of the famous Michael Collins Speech. International Naval Festival in the Port of Cork on 18th, 19th & 20th October. International Marching Band Parade starts from Patricks Hill on Saturday, 19th October Cork Gathering Concert at the Port of Cork on Saturday, 19th October. The Cork Global Economic Forum and Networking Event will take centre stage on Thursday. The forum will be chaired by local businessman John Mullins. Naval ships from around the world arrive in the Port of Cork for the International Naval Festival and Graham Norton will visit his home town of Bandon.
