The Cornwall Branch of the Celtic League receives many communications each day by several different means. This is one of the more remarkable and we sincerely thank Samuel Farmer for sending it to us: You guys are a minority now and as such you must, must, must find a way to protect your traditions first. To do this you need a council to agree what they are and what should be protected. I think things like ‘Darky Day’ need careful consideration and to be reinstated. I’m black and it doesn’t bother me seeing people blacking up. Forgive me if I have overstepped the mark. I just feel it’s a crime that you as a minority don’t know yet what to do with it whilst I as a minority member sees full well what its importance is. I think things like blacking up is an ancient Cornish right and should be debated and potentially protected.
