The Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation - TopicsExpress

The Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) is issuing a Call for Papers for presentation at the CSAVR 2013 Fall Conference. The conference will be held from Sunday, November 10, through Wednesday, November 13, at the Grand Hyatt Denver, 1750 Welton Street, Denver, Colorado 80202 The Agenda for the Fall Conference only has space available for presentations for five (5) concurrent sessions. Because of limited availability for sessions, we will only entertain proposals specific to Transition and Employment. Transition proposals should highlight proven practices where presenters can provide data on employment outcomes for in and out of school youth, including summer employment, internships, OJT’s, unpaid work experience, etc. resulting from the practice. Data should be provided to CSAVR when the request to present at the conference is submitted. Practices that highlight collaboration with other entities to achieve the desired outcomes will be given priority. If the number of transition practices submitted that have merit, exceeds the number of sessions available to present, we will consider one concurrent session with round tables where a number of transition practices can be shared, and participants can rotate to various tables to learn about the different practices. This would be an interactive session and can only be offered if the space available for the session will accommodate 75-100 participants without presenting any issues with accessibility. Employment proposals should highlight proven practices for working with business to employ people with disabilities. Practices involving work with the National Employment Team or The NET at the national state or local level will be given first priority. Proposals submitted on either topic should also describe how the information to be presented will enhance the ability of VR agencies and staff to better serve consumers and/or business. Papers may be recommended for presentation only at a concurrent session; however concurrent sessions will be 75 minutes in length. Deadline for submission of Papers is close of business, Wednesday, July 31, 2013. You are encouraged to share this Call for Papers. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]. Thank you.
