The Council’s Voluntary Sector Commissioning Consultation Ends 9th July From 11th April to 9th July, the Communities and Business Change Directorate’s Voluntary Sector Commissioning Team will be carrying out a consultation with Calderdale’s voluntary sector. Why They Are Doing It Following the Budget Consultation exercise in January 2014, they need to save £220,000 from their Communities and Business Change Directorate’s Voluntary Sector Commissioning budget from April 2015. Currently, the Directorate’s scheme awards three different levels of funding: Large contracts up to £370,000 a year; namely advice and information, voluntary sector infrastructure and Healthwatch contracts; Large grants, up to £29,000, awarded for up to three years at a time to deliver specific services around safer and stronger communities and cultural objectives; Small one off grants, up to £3,000, to help community projects. For more information on their current funding and to apply for a Small Grant see Grants. Why They Want To Hear From You They want to understand the shape and needs of the voluntary sector in Calderdale. They will use the information you provide to help inform how they use their funding from April 2015 onwards. As part of the consultation they have also held a number of drop-ins across the borough, if you were unable to attend but would still like to discuss, please contact Sarah Barker at [email protected]
