The Cycle “Murderer!” The ancient Senator turned calmly to face the seething madman brandishing a gleaming pistol, accosting him unexpectedly. “Perhaps you mistake me for someone else, Sir,” he suggested politely, looking down the barrel squarely into his deranged accuser’s eye. This, just as the projectile from a Capitol policeman’s Sigsauer rendered the madman’s gray matter unceremoniously upon the hallowed staircase. The usual well meaning hordes quickly descended to duly process and chronicle affairs. Medals would be awarded, the lawmaker’s suit confiscated as evidence, and the marble entrance to the hall of justice pristinely disinfected. People and the news keep breaking.
