The Deacon Report 10 26 2014 Praise the Lord. What a wonderful day in our house of the Lord. Had a little surprise for the Congregation this week as we had the new metal roof installed on the fellowship hall without anyone knowing. It looks great ( I have a little video of it) The preacher ( as well as everyone ) was very surprised. Everyone really liked it. It was a special day in many ways as it was Dianes Birthday so we had Cake and Ice cream after service. Ms Sue became an official member of the church and we had a wonderful Sermon.. What more can you ask for? I personally would like to thank Our Facebook friends For their Generous contributions that have enabled us to do some major updates that were so needed. Our House of the Lord will never solicit money from anyone. Our purpose is to save the Soul, But,Of course it takes money to keep going and we are so thankful for those that do contribute. I have always said You cant outspend GOD All of you will be Blessed as we are for receiving your Blessings. Praise GOD! We love each of you. More folks need to seek and listen to the Lord as yall do. As I see it, The church Or at least our church has one purpose... To save souls.... People need to get with it. If you are a member of a church your job is to support the church in its mission, not use the church as your personal crutch! JFK said Ask not what your country can do for you but, What you can do for your country.....the same applies for your church. This is accomplished through support, attendance, spreading the word, etc. To many folks adorn the pews of the church weekly for the wrong reasons. They treat it as a status symbol. Youre not fooling God. When you are in church God is the center of attraction!! Giving praise to Jesus is what its all about!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if you are there for ay other reason the you are actually hurting the church. But more important you are disappointing GOD!! Our little House of the lord has come a long way. The Lord is playing a very active role in our advancement. We are not the same church that has been there for a hundred years. we have found the Lord and he is blessing us. Our Facebook friends get this. Thank you all so much. We are planning our Thanksgiving feast. The church will be providing the Turkey and Briskets. The members will be providing the rest under the guidance of our newest member... Ms Sue. ;-0 It will be a blessed day with plenty of food and fellowship, Hopefully we can entice a few new visitors Hope everyone has a blessed week and Praises Jesus. Jim. An impoverished old man applied for membership in a rich church. The pastor attempted to put him off with all kinds of evasive remarks. The old man, becoming aware that he was not wanted, finally said that he would pray on it. Several days later he returned. Well, asked the pastor, did the Lord give you a message? Yes Sir, he did was the old mans answer. He told me it wasnt any use. He said, Ive been trying to get in that same church myself for ten years, and I still cant make it.
