The Dear Mr. Watterson documentary just hit Netflix. Initially funded as a Kickstarter campaign, this documentary studies the cultural impact of Bill Watterson’s decade-long comic strip Calvin and Hobbes as well as personal accounts from fans who credit the comic strip for encouraging literacy. The film features interviews from actor Seth Green, other comic strip greats like Berkeley Breathed (Bloom County), Stephan Pastis (Pearls Before Swine), Bill Amend (FoxTrot) and more. Out of respect to Bill, the makers of this film do not attempt to invade his privacy.
