The Department of Fire and Emergency Services have advised people living in the south west corner of WA from Kalbarri to Paynes Find to Southern Cross to Israelite Bay to get ready now for the dangerous weather coming early overnight. This includes people in, near and between Margaret River and Busselton. This is unusual weather that could cause significant damage to homes and make travel very dangerous. The Bureau of Meteorology advises a cold front is expected to approach the west coast during the early hours of Friday morning and move across the South West Land Division during the course of the day. During Friday afternoon a secondary cold front will approach the south west corner of the State. The first front is likely to cause widespread damaging winds to 100 kilometres per hour that could result in damage to homes and property. In isolated areas dangerous gusts in excess of 125 kilometres per hour could cause significant damage or destruction to homes and property.
