The Department of Planning & Environment exhibited proposed - TopicsExpress

The Department of Planning & Environment exhibited proposed amendments to the coal seam gas and mining reforms announced in January 2014. The changes have now been finalised. The policy changes: • ensure a consistent approach to transitional arrangements for the Gateway process • adjust CSG exclusion zone mapping - an additional 19 properties are proposed to be added to the viticulture Critical Industry Cluster • clarify that minor modifications of existing CSG projects within CSG exclusion zones, which do not enlarge, expand or intensify CSG development are permissible • clarify the application of State significant development criteria for CSG exploration wells. Importantly, no additional coal seam gas development will be allowed in CSG exclusion zones as a result of these changes. The policy will continue to safeguard homes and valuable agricultural land in NSW from the impacts of coal seam gas and coal mining activities. planspolicies.planning.nsw.gov.au/?action=list_submissions&job_id=6596
