The Department of Revenue and Taxation, Drivers License & Guam ID Branch will be closed onFriday, Jan. 16, 2015. Friday will serve as the first day of a two-day training session. The Branch is upgrading the security of the processing and issuance of both Drivers License and Guam ID cards. The upgrade is part of a federal effort titled REAL ID, which aims to improve the reliability and accuracy of state-issued identification documents. Currently, each state and territory has its own criteria for producing and issuing state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards. The Real ID Act sets a minimum standard for all states and territories. Closure To transition to this new program, employees of the Drivers License & Guam ID Branch must attend through a two-day training. Training is set for Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16 and 17. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 20. (Monday is the observed Martin Luther King Jr. holiday). We apologize for the inconvenience.
