The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha arrived Owerri for the Christmas celebrations aboard a Presidential Fleet on Sunday, 21st December 2014. His return marked his first outing and open unveiling of his running mate after they concluded the processes in INEC to formalize their positions as the Gubernatorial Flagbearer and Running Mate of the People’s Democratic Party for Imo State guber election come 2015. The Deputy Speaker, who arrived Sam Mbakwe Airport at midday yesterday, had in his company, his running mate Rt. Honourable Chuma Nnaji, the Chairman National Population Commission, Barrister Eze Duruiheoma SAN, Hon. Gerald Irona and Chief Elvis Agukwe. On ground to welcome them were, The Imo State PDP Chairman Sir Nnamdi Anyaehie, Hon. Nnanna Igbokwe, Chief Chris Asoluka (Okwuruoha), Hon Robertson Ekwebelem and other party faithful. The Deputy Speaker proceeded from the airport to the Anglican Church of the Pentecost, Amaumara Ezinihitte Mbaise, where his two wards underwent Confirmation in a service presided over by the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Mbaise. He latter proceeded to the country home of chief Harritex, for the one year Memorial ceremony of his mother;there, he was received by a legion of party faithfuls including Chief Jerry Chukwueke who did not hide his support for his governorship bid come 2015. Yesterday’s outing was significant in that,it marked the first outing of the PDP guber flag-bearer and his running mate. It also went down history as the first day the Deputy Speaker made the official pronouncement at Anglican Church of the Pentecost, Amaumara Ezinihitte Mbaise that Rt. Hon. Chuma Nnaji is his Running Mate.
