The Determination of Fox News to tear the United States asunder, at any cost, beggers understanding. We know that Bergdahl wasnt popular with other members of his platoon and the unit had discipline problems. Its quite possible Bergdahl made a serious mistake. He wandered off several times during training. Things had advanced well past the point where someone should have sent him to the rear for evaluation. Im sure these soldiers believe what they say. They probably have no clue about how they are being used or what theyre doing to their country. I would rather see them on the Witness stand being questioned by experienced JAG officers, along with their officers and other members of the unit. I expect well all learn a lot. Other media reports indicated this Platoon wasnt very supportive of the war effort in Afghanistan. At the bottom of all of this is going to be a very ugly reality about young men and war that any good historian already knows. Not the John Wayne myth.
