The Donkey Sanctuary: This little fella is Enda! This photo was taken when he was three weeks old. His mam gave birth to him during the very hot weather but sadly died shortly after. Help was at hand from a neighbouring farmer Noel Moran who took the little foal to hand rear him. Within a week or so Noel approached the local AWO for advice and assistance. He was feeding milk taken from his own goats but Enda wasn’t thriving as he should. The Sanctuary stepped in, a feeding regime organised and help in sourcing specialist milk feed. Very soon little Enda had progressed from bottle to bucket and was starting to gain weight. With the continued support of the Welfare Team, Enda now 9 weeks old continues to thrive and is growing by the day. He is now able to nibble grass and the amount of milk he requires is decreasing. At 12 weeks he will be able to be weaned onto hard feed to ensure he is in optimum condition for the winter months ahead.
