The Dover Post has confirmed that Dover Air Force Base is currently on lockdown due to a suspicious person on base. Guards at the base are turning people away from entering the main gate. According to the 436th Air Lift Wing Twitter account, a suspicious individual was reported near Building 706 at approximately 11 a.m. The base is on lockdown as a precautionary measure. Base housing, however, does not appear to be on lockdown. We are continuing to monitor this story and will provide more information as it becomes available.
