The Dr although he as all the symptoms of celiac he does not have celiac he did 2 kinds of blood work to look for celiac and gluten intolerance he has neither. Basically he has hypotonia in his lower intestinal tract. Low Motility they call it. So he does not digest his food they way we do he does it much slower. So we need to do a few things to clean his system out and start from scratch with a new type of eating pattern and with a laxative every am (not mirlax) to keep him where he needs to be. He needs to eat 5 small meals a day and we should let him eat what his wants though. Its not what he is eating the type of food does not matter although we will keep up with extra fiber and keep track of what he is eating for a bit. Back to the Dr in 2 weeks. Really love this Dr he said there is no real answer just that he has Down syndrome and this can happen. They symptoms of this mimic Celiac hence the confusion.
