The Drug Enforcement Commission in Muchinga Province has arrested a 30 year old woman of Nakonde for trafficking in miraa. Selina Chilembo, 30, a business woman of Ntindi village in Nakonde has been arrested for trafficking in 20 bundles of miraa concealed in a travelling bag. The suspect was intercepted in Isoka District. Others arrested in Muchinga Province include Daniel Bwalya, 32, a peasant farmer of Kaonda village in Mpika District for trafficking in 21kg of loose cannabis and Felix Muwowo, 42, a peasant farmer of Muyombe village in Mafinga District for trafficking in 3.8kg of loose cannabis. Also arrested and jointly charged in Muchinga Province is an 18 year old boy of Katongo village in Isoka District and Eliya Mulamba, 35, a peasant farmer of Kampumbu village in Isoka for trafficking in 1.8kg of loose cannabis. In Lusaka, the Commission has arrested Kennedy Zulu, 40, of Lilanda Township for trafficking in 7 rocks of cocaine wrapped in clear plastics and trafficking in 330.4g of loose cannabis. The suspect was apprehended at Buseko Market in Matero. Also arrested in Lusaka is J immy Mwale, 28, of Makeni area for being in possession of 1 sachet of heroin. And in Southern Province the Commission has arrested Syabusu Ostern Chikoye, 30, of Malima area in Sinazeze District for trafficking in loose cannabis weighing 9.13kg. All suspects will appear in court soon.
