The Dusky Prototypes Event was Canadian Cancer Society’s and the pull was Jemini Face Models, their makeup their hairstyle and the music which has always startled the South Asian fashionistas. Oct 4th 2013 witnessed one of the most sought after fashion shows of dusky Indian models born and raised in Toronto. Started off with a thoughtful Indian remix, those dusky females started cat walking towards the gazers and defied each n every eye goggling at them. Models draped in black with traditional Indian jewellery were looking like artefacts and their walk was a mystical charm. The mystification could be seen in the eyes of the beholders - what to perceive first and what to appreciate more – the Indo-Canadian beauties, the jewels, the walk, their makeup, hair styles or music. As they completed their walk, we had more of the dusks droning out in gorgeous fascinators. Adorned in contemporary Jumpers combined with Eastern Jewels hanging around their covers was unquestionably fabulous. The evening ball gowns were in no way behind and their charismatic hats amplified the appeal tenfold. Ensuing the outline of their stride, they finished off with a recent English pop number. Wrapping up a fashion show is always a challenge. Where jewels boast along with North American blend of the east and the west, how could the show be complete without divulging into the traditional ethnic wear. Walking on the clouds, showing off the famous Aishwarya Rai look along with her music number, crimped hair, thick eye liners, braided hair with a rose overlooking the cheeks agreeing to the rosy lip color was a scene to watch. Not to forget a little angel walking by the models flinging gold dust and casting spell to eradicate cancer from the entire society was a 10 year old Sidney, the future of Jemini face Models. The show stopper entered with a lovely yellow evening gown embroidered in tradition, her hair woven in fresh Jasmine floral ornaments spread the fragrance of the Beauty and the Best. Komal Popli, the owner, Jemini Face Models and also the organizer of this Fashion Show walked proud with the showstopper. “Closing off the collaboration of all three segments in 15 minutes wasn’t an easy business, said Komal. All the models, Make up artists, haisrtylists worked on the skin and hair for hours to get the right look to go with the corresponding attire. Talking about the Fashion show organized at the Meet n Greet of Music Director Mr. Annu Malik few weeks ago, Komal said,” Meeting a legend like Annu Malik, welcoming him to Brampton and walking the models with him is a day to treasure for all of us here at Jemini Face. It will always be close to my heart.” Komal Popli was extremely thankful to all the models and MUA ( Make up Artists ) Pakeeza Make Up Artst and Neda Kamal for Aishwarya Rai Traditional form, Ginny from Cosmo Artistry for the Fascinators look, Najvia from Zebaye Beauty salon and Fariha from Fairy Beauty Salon for the Jewellery girls’ appearances.
