The EU European Neighbourhood Policy is an instrument to provide more support to partner countries, build deep and sustainable democracy and support inclusive economic development. That is why we are interested in how the ENP-East countries (Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia and Azerbaijan) are doing. Did you know that they have a younger population that that of the EU? Another interesting fact is that more than 10% of first marriages in those countries involved young women aged 15 to 19 years. Also, those countries showed strong differences in the unemployment rate by age and in general, young people were more severely hit by unemployment than the older population.
