The EUs anti-terrorism coordinator Gilles de Kerchove says the number of Europeans joining Islamic State in Syria and Iraq has risen above 3,000. Mr de Kerchove says the declaration of a Caliphate in the region in June attracted many to the IS jihadist cause.
