The East TN Division IAEI presents: 2011 NEC Residential Workshop August 15th, 2013 from 8:30 – 4:00 Southeast TN Conference and Trade Center Inside the Athens Regional Park 2401 Decatur Pike, Athens, TN Paul Abernathy, NEMA Southeastern Representative will be presenting a program on residential wiring requirements based on the 2011 NEC. This comprehensive seminar explains in clear, concise language, pictures and graphics the installation, design, and inspections of electrical systems in new and existing one- and two-family dwellings. The seminar includes the electrical requirements of both the National Electrical Code and the International Residential Code (IRC). Inspectors, contractors, electricians, and students will find this seminar particularly helpful. This program will assist attendees in making more accurate, thorough, and safer installations and inspections of one- and two-family dwellings. Length of Seminar: 6 hours Learning Outcomes: After taking this course, the participant should be able to: ■Have an understanding of the specific NEC requirements pertaining to the unique applications of a dwelling unit. ■Apply general Code requirements and wiring methods as they apply to one- and two-family dwelling electrical sytems. ■Understand which Code rules apply to branch circuit and feeder calculations, grounding, services, swimming pools, overcurrent protection and devices such as ceiling fans, receptacles, and luminaires. ■Design and apply installation practices according to safety provisions in the National Electrical Code® and the electrical requirements of the International Residential Code®.
