The Elliot Smith Tribute gig was wonderful to be a part of, and Im ever so grateful for the chance to have played and honoured a very missed Elliott! All American Girl and Sweetheart Contract gave beautiful soul performances with all the LOVE felt for ES songs. The event raised over £2k for MIND the charity, so all in all very successful evening! There is a lot of talk on the event page of how terrible the evening turned toward the end as a result of BDB acting a bit self important, and antagonistic during his set. Creating a mood that felt even uglier by responding to a person in the audience shouting for him to play an Elliott song, which he totally refused to do, and the BDB minions turning mob rule onto that audience member. Im a bit baffled on all degrees of why BDB is the person he thinks he is on stage. I hope to never be near his existence again. Love&Light RIP ELLIOTT SMITH! XO JG
