The Embassy has received a number of queries about the three U.S. Air Force aircrafts at Nadi International Airport. The following is shared by the Air Mobility Command spokesperson: U.S. Air Force KC-135 air refueling aircraft are in Fiji in support of global mobility missions, but further detail is not available at this time. Air Mobility Command provides rapid global mobility support around the globe every day, in support of every combatant commander in the Department of Defense. We can also confirm that Nadi was selected as it is the largest regional airport with the capacity to support the three aircraft. The Embassys Defense Attaché Office coordinates aircraft clearances with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We appreciate the Government of Fijis support for this mission. Details on the planes can be found at: af.mil/AboutUs/FactSheets/Display/tabid/224/Article/104524/kc-135-stratotanker.aspx
