The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dhaka Expresses Interest for Academic Exchanges with AIUB Mr. Bahram Saifzadeh, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dhaka visited the American International University-Bangladesh together with Dr. Kosravi, official representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran and a Research Counselor. He coordinates the whole subcontinent universities and presently residing in India. Also with them is the Press Officer of the Embassy. The delegation was met by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Mr Mashiour Rahman , Director of FSIT, Dr. Dip Nandi, FSIT and Dr. Mannan of the EEE Department. The meeting was focused on exploring the possibilities of academic exchange or cooperation. At present, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology is engaged in various research projects and expressed desire to collaborate with AIUB on the area of Science and Technology. It is also interested to cooperate in promoting quality education through academic exchange where a faculty can visit universities in Iran for observation, teaching and interaction with the faculty and management. In this regard, the Embassy will identify universities where academic cooperation can be engaged with. From here, the proposed Memorandum of Understanding can be formulated based on the mutual interest of both universities. After the meeting, the visitors were ushered to the Computer and Engineering Labs, and the Library. It is the hope of both parties that the partnership will be realized soon.
