The Empire Strikes Back! The blog TPM (Talking Points Memo) and others, including the AP have been rife with barely suppressed glee over the war between the Evil Empire (meaning Republican Establishment) and the Tea Party insurgents and militant extremists. Adopting a strategy which they publicly decry, The Establishment has implemented the methods of the Obama (and French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Greek, etc) administration of applying sanctions. The Republican Establishment has quietly and stealthily cut off funding for consultants who dare to take fees from e.g. Freedom Works and other Tea Party pressure groups. Why, Boehner and McConnell have taken to publicly castigating such will-agitate-for-food professionals (the kind the IRS gave greater scrutiny to) hiding behind 501(c)(4) status. It appears to be a truism that revolutions ( e.g. the 2010 Tea Party assault on the Federal Government) breed counter-revolutions. That is evident right here in the old U S of A as well as in Libya, Syria, Egypt, and Ukraine. Vive la Revolution.
